Ian Filko

Before joining Smart Dolphins, I worked as a device technician at Nanaimo Hospital, and in BCLC’s technical maintenance department. Both roles were fast-paced, hands-on, and taught me a lot about staying calm when stuff breaks (because it always breaks at the worst time).

I’m drawn to solving problems and helping people, traits you’ll find all across the IT industry.  I’m currently diving into networking and cybersecurity, working toward my Network+ and Security+ certifications. In the long term, I’m aiming to specialize in cybersecurity (hopefully here, at Smart Dolphins).
