How to: Share an email from Outlook to Microsoft Teams

If you are used to copying and pasting email content into Teams Channels, well, there is a better way! Microsoft Teams is a collaboration tool, and it is designed to make working together easier. Here, below, is a much better way.
Follow the steps below for getting that email message out of Outlook and into the Teams channel where it needs to be.
Steps
- Hover over the channel that you need an email address for.
- Right click: “get email address.”
- Click “copy.”
- Go back to Outlook and click “forward.”
- Paste the address (which will be very long) into the recipient field and click “send.”
Within seconds, your email will be in the channel where it needs to be.
Don’t worry if you need to share an attachment, you can choose to include or not include attachments.
There are two key benefits to getting into the habit of doing this.
Firstly, this method will improve collaboration for issues that involve a group of professionals within your organization — it keeps the discussion internal. Secondly, there is improved efficiency in that you can put a stop to those annoying back-and-forth chains of email conversations.
Of course, there will always be a need for external email communication but for those issues that require oversight and collaboration amongst a group of professionals within your organization (let’s say, a department, team, or committee), be sure to bring those emails into Teams and stop the email spiral!
