Are you having issues displaying these Pod Pointers properly? This Pointer’s for you!

I’d use pictures to assist with my explanation of the problem, but the whole problem is that you can’t see the pictures, so here’s my best attempt:

THE PROBLEM

When you receive a Pod Pointer via e-mail, the images don’t appear and instead you see boxes with red X’s in them.

THE CAUSE

For security reasons, Microsoft Outlook is blocking the images from being displayed, and prefers to show you a hideously ugly version of our Pod Pointers rather than subject you to a potential security exploit in images how dare they, right?

THE SOLUTION

Look towards the top of the e-mail, just above the From: field.  You’ll see a bar that says:

Click here to download pictures. To help protect your privacy, Outlook prevented automatic download of some pictures in this message.

Right-click the bar, and select Add Sender to Safe Senders List .  From now on Microsoft Outlook knows to trust the e-mail address that the Pod Pointers come from, and will always display the images that they contain.  Try it now – if it works then the Pod Pointer banner at the top of this e-mail should appear.

From now on you’ll see the Pod Pointers the way they were supposed to look – shinier than chrome on a muscle car!

p.s.  You can apply this tip to any e-mail that you receive, not just Pod Pointers.

  • Hi Aldyne,

The heading should be right at the top of the e-mail that isn’t displaying properly. If you’re still unable to find it, here’s another method to try:

    – With the e-mail selected or open, click the Actions menu
    – Click Junk E-mail
    – Click Add Sender to Safe Senders List

If this still doesn’t work, let us know and we can assist you further.

Otherwise, we hope you’re enjoying the Pod Pointers!

  • I have the 2003 version but I don’t see the headings you are telling me to go to.
